In Proverbs 27:17 it says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
I once went to youth group and the youth leader was teaching on Proverbs 27:17 that week. We did an experiment where we had three cups full of water. Our youth pastor added food dye to one of them. This glass represented us. Then he added two different colors to the other glasses. This was the people we were around. Then he took the glasses that represented the people we were around and poured the water into the glass that was supposed to be us. They all combined and it changed the color of us. In this experiment we were one color, but as soon as we added the other people in our life it changed us.
That’s what it’s like in real life. The people we hang out with can change who we are. The people you are around have a lot of influence on you. So if you hang out with bad people, your character will start to change and you could also start doing bad things too. People have way more influence on you than you think.
I think this an important verse to remember. I would encourage you to memorize it and think about what it means to you.
